Stamping with Friends Blog Hop - June 2022 - Sun Print Strip Card Challenge

What shall we do with all the strips cut from our beloved Designer Series Paper? A strip background! I love making these backgrounds. Let me show you how I like to use my strips!

Here is a pile of strips cut from the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper. A nice variety of patterns and sizes. I also found the largest Scalloped Contour Frame cute from a piece of this DSP, after measuring I found that a piece of 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 basic white would fit. This is the base for all the strips. I did need to make a few strips narrower and cut these at 1/2 inch.

I began by laying out the strips, then used my multipurpose glue to adhere the strips to the basic white base. This is not pretty! The third picture shows them all adhered. Be sure to do your gluing on a Silicone Craft Sheet because glue won't stick to it. I think the wonder for me is how this 'not pretty' piece becomes lovely. One day I made enough for all the ladies at my upcoming workshop and gave them homework - to create cards with them! I loved the cards they created.

Here is what it looks like from the back! Again - this is not pretty! Trim close to the base to reveal a beautiful background.

Now, this is pretty! It's like the Ugly Duckling story and is fun to watch happen. I glued this to my Contour Scallop Frame, put a strip of ribbon across the front, anchoring in the back with glue dots, and adhered this to my cardbase using dimensionals.

All that is left is to decorate you card. I used the Nature's Prints Bundle for dies and sentiment. Another strip went on the inside of my card and on the envelope.

Thank you so much for joining us in our blog hop today. I hope you are inspired by all the beautiful creations.
