Peaceful Poppies Sympathy Card
So often we need to quickly create a sympathy card, this one uses elements from the Peaceful Poppies Suite which includes two stamp bundles with dies, ribbon, designer series paper, sequins and Peaceful Poppies Elements.
I chose the plainer side of the designer series paper and stamped the field of poppies directly onto the DSP (Designer Series Paper.) I next stamped the larger poppy stalk and colored with blends. The Swirl circle die made a great backdrop for the sentiment. A few sequins, a bow and here is a lovely card to warm the heart of someone suffering the loss of a loved one.
Project Recipe:
- Cut card base (1/2 sheet of paper cut at 5.5 inches and scored at 4.25 inches)
- Cut Designer Series Paper at 4 inches X 5.25”
- Cut Whisper White cardstock at 5.25 inches X 4 inches, this is for the inside of your card.
- Out of a scrap of Poppy Parade Paper cut the focal piece using the circular die in the Painted Labels Dies.
- Time to stamp!
a. Stamp sympathy sentiment from Peaceful Moments Stamp set onto a scrap of whisper white in Memto Tuxedo Black ink.
b. Stamp the field of poppies in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the bottom of the designer series paper, first and second generation stamping.
c. Stamp the tall poppy over the top of this.
d. Stamp tall poppy onto the inside layer, trust me, it will be really cute! I stamped mine on the lower left.
e. Stamp the poppy stem stamp onto your envelope. I used the splatter stamp in Poppy Parade Ink to add some color.
f. Using Blends in Poppy Parade and Mossy Meadow, color the poppy with leaves on DSP and inside layer. - Cut the sentiment using the Stitched Circle Dies.
- Assemble
a. Adhere (I prefer Tombow Multi-purpose glue, but SNAIL also works) inside layer to card.
b. Adhere stamped designer series paper to front of card.
c. Adhere circle cut out to top left of DSP, flat.
d. Using dimensionals adhere the sympathy sentiment to the middle of the circle. - Add embellishments - rhinestones, sequins, whatever you like. I used the sequins in the Peaceful Poppies Suite
