Journey to Silver Elite Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our Journey to Silver Elite Blog Hop. I hope you find ideas and creative inspiration as you visit all of the blogs. We are a group of stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators working together to help each other build a successful Stampin’ Up!® business and reach goals we have set.

You may be starting here or have come from Tracy’s blog, isn’t she fabulously creative! You will find the links to all of our blogs at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today. We really appreciate your support!

My good friend and downline, Laurie Russell, came over for a creative play date and we had such fun. She wanted to try the baby wipe technique and I had been wanting to try the Stampin’ Blends alcohol technique so we combined them and made a card using Gorgeous Leaves and Intricate Leaves Dies.

I’ll start with the Stampin’ Blends and Alcohol Inks:

I’ve heard that the higher the alcohol content of the Isopropyl Alcohol the better, so I grabbed my bottle of 91% alcohol. I also chose a dry water brush, three colors of Stampin’ Blends (Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, and Granny Apple Green) and a 1/4 sheet of Vellum cardstock.

I randomly scribbled with the brush end of my blends being careful to not overlap, I didn’t want to muddy the colors. NOT very pretty at this point.

Then I started adding taps of the alcohol cleaning my brush between colors;  the colors spread and I like the effect. It is a bit messy so be sure to have paper towels and a surface to work on. I gently tapped off the extra on the sides with my paper towel. I used the low setting on my heat gun to dry it.

It was a bit warped, but I cut it to card front size, minus 1/8” on all sides, and used my multipurpose glue to adhere to my Cajun Craze cardstock.

We added the same colors to a baby wipe, used that as our stamp pad, and stamped the leaf which we cut out with the dies; we also cut a leaf from the beautiful Be Dazzling Specialty Paper in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog (free with a $50 order), and one out of Granny Apple Green. I had a piece of the Be Dazzling paper left from another project and it had a scalloped edge, I used it as an accent for the sentiment which came from the Many Happenings Stamp Set.

To finish my card, I tapped my Wink of Stella on my bone folder for a bit of shimmer spatter on the card and added rhinestone gems.

I hope you enjoyed my project! I’d love to read your comments.
