Thank you for visiting my blog today!
It is my pleasure to participate in this event organized by Kylie Bertucci. There are so many beautiful projects to inspire us all. I hope you enjoy my accordion fold card.

This is a great card for groups to give. I made one a few months ago for my granddaughter's work, she works for Lulu Lemon and I had some paper with lemons on it from a past kit. A coworker was leaving for another job and it needed to have lots of room to write notes.
My Bible study group needed a card to go with a gift basket for dear friends who are getting to see their relatives later this month. Needless to say, I offered to make one for us all to sign.
These cards can be as large as needed; this one is basically 2 card bases so it is easy to make with either metric card measurements or imperial. I'm in the USA so use imperial measurements.
Begin by scoring a piece of cardstock in half on the short side. For Imperial that's 4 1/4", metric is 10.5 cm. Cut this in half, 5 1/2", 14.9 cm metric. This gives you two cardbases. adhere one to the other (one side of card 1 overlaps one side of card 2) This gives you a longer card and more writing space. Fold and reinforce the folds, one folds to the right, the other to the left.
Here is what it looks like after you've adhered the designer series paper - two sides with 3 sections on each, one will be the front an one will be the back.
Each section has a mat of gold foil and a piece of the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper, this is my FAVORITE in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.
Before I adhered the DSP to the gold foil I cut out my gold focal pieces for the front and back sections.
Leave enough room around the gold to adhere the beautiful paper. I adhered all the layers with multi purpose glue so I'd have a little time to adjust the placement.
Once the basics were together I started adding sentiments and accents. The set I use was Many Happenings cut out with the Messages Die. I stamped using my stamparatus and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Tip: keep a small plastic bag with the extra messages inside the stamp case. Accents are from the Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack.
There are other ways of keeping an accordion fold card together, but I like to use a belly band. The large gold flower and leaves was perfect for this.
The band is Evening Evergreen cardstock, the same color as the card base. The ribbon is the Gold Fine Art ribbon. I used tear and tape to adhere the ribbon to the cardstock. I added a bow with a glue dot. I also used a strip of the tear and tape across the ribbon to hold the gold foil. There was a bit of stickiness exposed; although the embossing buddy is retired I used it to “destickify” the area.
I am an Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator in the United States and would be honored to be your demonstrator if you do not already have one. I am happy to help you with orders, online workshops, or welcome you to my team, Nutsy's Stampers.
